Canadian Businesswomen's Mission to China and Hong Kong

October 21 to October 31, 2008

Today every Canadian company needs a “China Strategy”. This highly interactive Canadian Businesswomen’s Mission to China and Hong Kong has been specially designed to help women learn more about the world’s most dynamic economy and to discover firsthand the potential the Greater China area has for your business!

If you haven’t visited China or Hong Kong yet, or don’t know where to start, this mission can help. Learn how to do business in China and Hong Kong; what key business strategies to use to pursue those opportunities; and what resources are available to help realize those plans. Participants will also meet, and have an opportunity to ask questions and learn from other women executives and entrepreneurs including many Canadian women who have already successfully entered the Greater China market. Meet potential business partners, key government and business leaders and discover new trading opportunities to get started in this critically important international market.

e-Channel extended to frequent visitors to Hong Kong

An extended service on Automated Passenger Clearance System (e-Channel) in Hong Kong enables the city’s frequent visitors to enjoy a more convenient and speedy immigration clearance service upon arrival in Asia’s world city.

The extended service, announced by the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), allows frequent visitors who have successfully enrolled with the department to perform self-service immigration clearance at the Hong Kong International Airport  (HKIA). Currently, there are six e-channels for arriving visitors. The service will be extended to departing visitors later this year.

The new service is available to frequent visitors (aged 18 or above) who hold a valid HKSAR Travel Pass, or APEC Business Travel Card with the economy code "HKG" printed on the reverse side or HKIA Frequent Visitor Card, and who are travelling on a valid travel document and with a multiple visit visa (if applicable).

Travellers interested to enroll the service please visit the Immigration Department's website at http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/20041216.htm for details.
